Some Insight Into KATT - 05-9-2012 7:27 am

As some of you may know, KATT (Kill All The Things) is a work in progress game developed using the HTML5 canvas object and javascript. Blackmodule Studio does not plan to make any money with this project, but simply wishes to push the boundries of not only our own knowledge, but the functionality of the new technologies introduced in HTML5. 10 years ago, if you asked a developer if a web browser could be used as a game development platform, he would have gone cross eyed. Today, we have some great starts to wonderful technologies being developed in a web type environment: HTML5.

So beyond our Studio's obvious love for new and outstanding development platforms and technologies, we simply want to show what we can do. We are finding the intricacies in the HTML5 canvas and using those intricacies to make a great product. Today, we are showing you a glimps of what we are shooting for with KATT.

I finished the base leveling system for KATT today, as well as increased the level in the debug release to 12. What you will see is randomly generated objectives and a level progress meter, not to mention some pretty scarry dudes when you do get in game! There is only one type of enemy currently, but, that will change soon enough. For anybody that is actually following this project, you have our studio's thanks and appreciation. Cool

Go kill all the things!
